Society does not want to force parents to raise their children a certain way, but this position presupposes that all parents know what the hell they’re doing. Too bad that isn’t the case, because if it were I wouldn’t have read about a piece of sh*t 7-year-old kid who broke into a zoo, killed a number of animals with a rock, and then fed them and a few live animals to a crocodile. I cannot even begin to articulate how pissed off I was after I read this article—which never would have existed if that kid’s parents weren’t such irresponsible f*ck ups. Why the hell did you even have a child if you can’t keep track of him? That’s one of the basic rules of parenting, isn’t it? And it is especially true when your kid enjoys crushing animals with a rock. Don’t tell me he’s never done anything like this before, or that he was just playing around as all 7-year-olds do. That is crap all bad parents pull out of their asses when they don’t want to accept responsibility.

I know someone is going to try to defend this child’s sh*tty parents with the weak-ass “well, you don’t know how hard it is to raise children because you don’t have any” argument. Yeah, you’re right: I don’t have any kids—but I don’t need any to know what f*cked up parenting looks like.

My parents raised my sister and me with an iron fist and a zero tolerance policy for sass. The thought of getting scolded by either Mama or Daddy was scary enough to keep me from even considering doing anything bad. Of course, there were moments where I hated them for being so strict–and I am sure my parents were aware of my animosity towards them and were hurt by it. However, they didn’t let that stop them from laying down the law: I could despise them all I wanted, but at least I’d be an adult who was responsible enough to keep herself out of trouble.

The world is full of good parents who work hard to ensure that their children are positive additions to society, and they are totally ripped off by crappy parents who don’t do any work, and end up raising crappy kids who turn into crappy adults. That is not at all a fair trade. Parents who suck at parenting are simply not punished severely enough for forcing everyone else to put up with their demon kids. That kid who broke into the zoo is too young to get anything more than whatever his parents choose to dish out–which is most likely going to be something along the lines of a simple scolding, combined with some index finger wagging. Oh no, someone call Child Protection Services or whatever the Australian version is. And the parents are getting a lucky break too: they just have to deal with a lawsuit. Is that really going to be enough to teach them anything other than to never take him to the zoo again?

No…which is why I think there should be an exception to the rule against cruel and unusual punishments. Bad parents should suffer the consequences of their child’s actions. And I think this sh*tty kid should have his arms ripped off and waved at him…and then he should be fed to that crocodile…by his parents.

  1. ..and somehow you managed to make me laugh in the end..  that last statement is sO full of win.Anyways, no child defending from my side.. I’m with you all the way on this one.. horrible parenting.  Where the hell were the parents while all of this was going on??  What if this was a different story and their child was mauled to death by the animals instead?  I hope your weekend ends up better than it’s starting!

  2. going along with this rant, I made a post before on how parents are fucked up for not vaccinating their kids.  something about the really, really small risk of developing autism compared with the really, really high risk of contracting smallpox.  just another example of horrible parenting.

  3. This is going to sound very elitist, but the way the world is set up, the lower class have more kids and spread their genes more than the more educated.  Think about it…  How many times have you seen families on welfare or some other assistance with 4-6 kids, while those who spend the time and effort to go up the academic or corporate ladders delay getting married and having children, therefore they end up with only 1-2 kids. The result?  There’s no surprise that America is falling behind the rest of the world in education, because the genes with less intellect are being propagated more than those with more.  I’m not being elitist.  Just stating the facts.

  4. The woman who left her 2 year old in the car all day a year or so ago has been all over the news this week. She did some interview and the interviewer was saying something about how we shouldn’t criticize people like this woman because nobody is a perfect parent. That may be so but the woman still left a two year old in the car all day and she died. I really don’t see how she can’t be blamed.

  5. I read that too… stupid kid. Though i did kill a chicken and a kitten when I was young. Not because I wanted to kill them, but because I thought I’d help the chicken fold it’s wings and the second time I gave a kitten a bath in a bucket of water thinking it would be a good a thing for it.

  6. lol @ your last statement. too bad there’s no law preventing irresponsible ppl from having children. but i think the saddest part is that these ppl never even realize that they’re shitty parents…

  7. Thinking about the kid, the first thing I thought of was him being hit so bad he can’t even sit or stand, or rub ointment anywhere. If I did what he did, I know that’s what I’d get. It’s not child abuse, it’s just physical discipline…done a little heavily. I still love my mom.

  8. i agree with alot of what you stated. My mom always knew what I did, never knew how she did. but if I had to guess its because I lived in a village where basically any parent could hit you for fucking up & it worked.I just don’t understand how parents could be so irrespnsible.but then i go outside my apartment at any given hour, smoke a cig & see children running around or just standing in the middle of the parking lot & they are no parents in site. think one of the children did something that should be in those annoying news letters. they were playing with side-walk chalk & one of them did a body outline. i took a picture of it & showed it to the people running this place saying this is what it will take before anyone actually cares about their offspring running around, & then at that point even though its fully the parents fault their kid is a fuck-up, every one else gets blamed.

  9. hunnie… why are you mad?  hes over 5… and can be held liable for negligence…  i wonder how much all those animals cost… his college fund perhaps? =]

  10. That goes beyond bad parenting- anyone who can be that cruel to animals has something wrong with them.Studies show that most serial killers start out by having the desire to harm/torture animals. I hope they take his fingerprints and a DNA sample to keep on file just in case he “blossoms” into a SK.

  11. Killing animals at a young age is a sign of a serial killer . . . he’s the next Ice Man of down under! digustingi believe in hitting your child to set them straight…like on the hand or something. Not beating.

  12. i agree- what happen to the good ol’ fashioned child beating to get some sense into kids.. nowadays you can’t do anything without getting Child Protective Services called on you. Straight off pissing me off… that’s why we have so many crappy kids out there killing things, threatening to kill things, and torturing things. I can write a couple pages ranting on this sh!t.nice post

  13. It absolutely breaks my heart that those poor animals were murdered by that little fucktard…I stood in line at the gas station the other day behind this bitch with 2 little monsters… Her kid was seriously wearing me out with his beef jerky stick… she didn’t say a damn thing… so I said, “Hey kid, stop.” & his mom gets pissed at me & starts saying when I have kids I can tell them what to do… so i say “I could have jerked the slim jim out of his hand and slapped him with it… did I? No. I told him to stop.” *More of her bitching* Me: “Lady, you are the reason I always pay for my gas with my debit card & today the goddamn reader was broken so now I’m having to regulate your kid and deal with your bullshit… give me a break.”I hate bad parents… not kids… but bad parents.

  14. lol… your reaction to this issue shows that you’re very passionate about parenting..If I was your kid, I’d be very afraid.. lol….

  15. For the most part, people are going to raise their kids in the same manner that they were raised.  That is what they are comfortable with and most familiar with.  Personally, I think beating that kid or ripping his arms off is sending the wrong message.  You’re just teaching him to meet violence with more violence.  That should really keep him out of trouble in the future… -_- .I also think that being raised the traditional Chinese iron-first no-nonsense policy way would be horrible for a child.  But you think that it is fine, because that is the way you were raised.  And I’m sure you have a certain set of problems because of it.  The point being, there is no perfect way to raise a child.  All of us have issues relating to the way we were raised.

  16. Oh man, I’m so embarrassed to be Australian right now. I’m not sure if I’m imagining this but I vaguely remember hearing/reading somewhere that the parents of this kid wanted to sue the Zoo because the kid got hurt somehow during his crazed rampage. It’s pretty disgusting stuff either way.

  17. ….wow. I take it you like animals  I totally agree, parents are way too soft with the kids today. Mom and I walk through the store and see screaming kids, and a flustered mother saying sweetly, “No Jonny, you really shouldn’t scream like that. People will look at you. No, Jonny don’t  throw the candy all over the floor. Now Jonny, you really should pick that up.” When I was little if I had ever acted like that, dear sweet momma would have smacked me upside the face, grab me by the ear and drag me off the floor, out the door, to the car where she administered a nice swift spanking. You can bet your rear end that I was a perfect angel out in public.
